I give a hearty 2 thumbs up for this pick - just ordered it! I was there and it was a rollicking joyous show from start to finish. Much better than the Dicks Pix 6 '83 Hartford clam bake (which I was at as well).

I was front row center, only half of the hall was open. This was probably my 4th or 5th favorite show from '83, a year in which I saw almost 50 shows starting in Vegas ending at NYE. We followed the tour from The Frost shows through the Red Rocks shows, then I flew to NYC and began that era of my life. 10/11/83 was my first show when I got there and 10/17/83 was my "downhill from here show", my next show was the first of the NYE run and it seemed Jerry had taken a big step into stupor land by then. '83 was the last time I got scared by how good they were...and I saw over 100 shows after '83. Enjoyed many immensely.

You saw a great run of above average shows. As I mentioned I think it’s the last very good run of shows starting with 8-27 through 10-31. You can throw in the JGB shows from May and November too. I’m not sure how Jerry did it considering the shape he was in.

I caught 12 shows in a row that summer. My only "tour". The next highest number of shows in a row was 8, Hartford to Worcester, spring '87 after we almost lost Jerry. Caught 3/26/83 - 3/31/83 and 10/11/83 - 10/17/83, and I did a couple of NYE runs ('81 & '82) end to end for 5 show runs.

Never had such a good time...

My favorite show from '83 was 5/13, extenuating circumstances contributing to the extra fun, even upon re-listen It is still my favorite. I love a show where the highest point is the very last sound they made.
